Quality Control

In order for a community´s common areas to enhance the look of the community and the residents´ lifestyle, the landscape maintenance must be guided by a detailed plan that incorporates a number of quality control measures. Ensuring the landscape management provider performs to the level that the community expects should not be the responsibility of the community management. DLC Resources, Inc. has a multi-tiered Quality Control Program in place that engages managers at all levels to make sure that the community looks its best, from the entrances to the hidden away corners. We police ourselves and believe quality control is our job, not the job of the Community Manager or residents.

DLC´s Superintendents meet with the community management on a weekly basis to discuss the landscape management plan and align priorities. Weekly Schedules that summarize the previous week´s activities and outline the next week´s work are sent to the community management. Routine activities such as mowing and trimming are noted as are seasonal programs like pre and post emergent herbicide applications. Superintendents inspect their properties weekly specifically to create Quality Control Punchlists, which are used to direct the crew on maintenance items within the community. Punchlist items include everything from addressing sight line obstructions to seasonal pruning. Our Quality Control Program allows the Superintendent to set expectations and priorities with the crew.

Details we identify

Each month, every Superintendent at DLC does a Cross Property Inspection at another DLC maintained community. Superintendents look at crew activities, routine maintenance practices and they review the entire property with a fresh eye. This allows the Superintendents to troubleshoot potential issues at the community as well as learn from each other. Pictures from the monthly Cross Property Inspections are presented to the entire management team to share lessons learned at individual communities. Regional Managers and Project Managers conduct their own monthly review of their properties as well as properties they do not oversee. This allows their years of experience to be leveraged at every community rather than just the select few they oversee. High quality landscape care in the common areas helps protect property values and improve the residents´ lifestyle within the community.
