Most communities have complex irrigation systems with hundreds of parts that need to be managed. Our goal is to ensure that each plant receives only the necessary amount of water, and no more. To accomplish this goal, we consistently manage the irrigation system through the following steps:

Probing and Observing - Plant material is routinely observed and the soil is probed by the Superintendent or Foreman to determine the soil moisture at the root zone.
Proper Programming - DLC has extensive experience with complex irrigation control systems, such as Maxicom. In addition to knowing these systems, variables such as weather conditions, soil type, soil moisture, topography and the unique needs of each type of plant material require regular adjustments to the irrigation system to verify it is operating efficiently.
System Balancing - Irrigation Technicians equalize the precipitation rate through head spacing, nozzle size and other adjustments. System balancing and proper programming ensure plants receive enough water to remain healthy and no more.
Weekly Reporting - Water Programming Reports are sent to the Community Manager each week indicating cycle and run times for the irrigation system. Unexpected events such as mainline breaks, stuck valves and vandalism are also recorded.
Charting Actual Usage - Monthly usage is graphed by individual meters and compared to the previous year’s usage. Graphs are supplied for gallons used and dollars spent, along with rainfall amounts. Water usage is reviewed and analyzed to forecast water budgets.
